Serb Schools Told to Drop Darwin
Interesting- particularly considering Serbia was under Communist rule not that terribly long ago.
I wonder- how widespread is disapproval of Darwinian evolution in Orthodoxy? I am familiar with the late Ft. Seraphim Rose's beliefs on the matter, but have otherwise been under the impression that evolution is more or less accepted by much of the modern Orthodox Church.
On a quite unrelated note, but still in Serbia,

This is small, but vocal school of thought in Orthodoxy that believes that evolution may help explain creation (although not the origin of the universe).
However, the consensus of the Fathers and most Orthodox today is not in favor of evolution. IMO.
Good for the Serbians.
Last Sunday I was talking to a fellow parishoner after cLiturgy about the abscence of butterflys in our area (when I was a kid there were tons and tons of them) and how I think it might be related to the development of previously open space and a depletion of native plants.
She said, to my horror, "O yes. The butterflys evolved to eat native plants. If the plants go the butterflys go, too." It made me wonder if she believes Adam is a real person.
Satan is prowling.
